Do you ever ponder the meaning of life? Exactly why are we here? Perhaps these questions surface whenever we receive news we’d rather not receive, the passing of any uncle, a beloved aunt, a friend’s spouse who died for the wrong reason. I don’t produce a habit of reading the obituary columns in the newspaper but occasionally I find out about strangers. Many have observed a full and long life, contributed to society inside a meaningful way, were visible inside their community. I believe how proud their family has to be, I also think of the hurt and grief they are experiencing. I learn about the 42-year-old father having succumbed to cancer and leaves behind a wife as well as 2 children and that i wonder how this really is fair. My heart aches once i learn about the young child tragically killed inside an accident as my eyes fill with tears.
I’m no stranger to death. It scares I and me don’t deal well along with it. I find death emotionally overwhelming. It can be sadness, pain, compassion, hurt and empathy love all rolled together that hits like a tsunami.
I’ve lost high school graduation friends todrugs and accidents, and disease. I’ve seen personally the affect on a family when their young daughter took her life. Like numerous others, I have said goodbye to relatives only once they go.
I don’t know why I%u2019m so influenced by death. Its not that I think about it constantly. Maybe I subconsciously fear losing a mother or father, a sibling, a family member. Perhaps I’m selfish, a coward who doesn’t desire to die.
